OUR PROGRAMS
& SERVICES

Casa de Esperanza offers programs and services for individuals
seeking assistance with domestic abuse, child abuse, and human trafficking.

We understand how lonely and scary an abusive relationship can be. Our trained and professional advocates provide immediate crisis intervention seven days a week through the 24-hour Crisis Hotline.

Our Counselors are professionally trained licensed or pre-licensed therapists who approach counseling in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, LGBTQ+ friendly manner. Services are provided for ages 5 through adulthood.

Safe Housing

Housing is safety. We offer safe and confidential emergency housing on a 24-hour basis. Our Shelter is a lifeline for many survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking and Child abuse.

Additional Services Provided

Casa de Esperanza offers an array of prevention and intervention services. Our services are provided at no charge and are completely confidential.

Accompaniment and Advocacy

To provide support, Casa advocates are available to accompany domestic violence survivors through medical, legal, and law enforcement processes. Advocates help survivors navigate these systems and make informed decisions.

Legal Assistance

Assistance with temporary restraining orders and other protective orders for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and sex trafficking. Possible referrals to other organizations for legal issues outside the scope of our services.

Counseling

Individual therapy for adult survivors and children ages 4+. You may request a referral through the helpline.

Crisis Intervention​

Survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking can obtain crisis counseling at any time, day or night, either by calling the Casa 24-hour Helpline at 1-530-674-2040 using our Chat feature. A trained advocate will assess the survivors’ situations, help them with a safety plan, and review various options.

Food, Clothing & Transportation​

Emergency food and clothing are available for domestic violence survivors and their families. Casa will also arrange transportation when required to go somewhere safe or access necessary services.

Referrals and Other Services

Casa collaborates closely with local public and private social service agencies in Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties to ensure our clients can access a full range of social services. We provide information and referrals to survivors and, where necessary, help with setting up appointments, transportation, and accompaniment. We also assist survivors with applying for CalFresh and Victim Compensation.

Safety Planning​

It is important to have a plan to increase safety, as violence can escalate. Casa helps provide a personalized and practical plan that assists in identifying things victims can do to protect themselves and their children better and help reduce the risk of being hurt.

Emergency Shelter​

Casa provides emergency confidential shelter for survivors and their children in immediate danger. A shelter stay allows survivors to be safe and access the needed resources.

Housing Transition Services​

Casa provides survivors experiencing homelessness or at risk of experiencing homelessness help to find, apply for, and secure housing.

Housing, Tenancy & Sustainability Services​

Casa provides survivors support to maintain safe and stable tenancy once housing is secured, such as coordination with landlords to address issues, assistance with the annual housing recertification process, and linkage to community resources to prevent eviction.

Education and Outreach Services​

Casa offers an outreach and education program to raise awareness of the realities of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and human trafficking in Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties. We work with community partners, organizations, and communities to ensure that we are raising awareness of domestic and sexual violence. Children Services​

Ongoing children’s individual counseling and group programs are offered for the children of domestic violence survivors at our Shelter and our service offices.

Community
Education & Outreach

Through community education & outreach, we teach individuals to recognize the signs of abuse and understand why it happens, gain skills to support individuals in unhealthy relationships, and increase public awareness of domestic violence. ​

Legal Advocacy​

Applying for a restraining order can be overwhelming. We offer free and confidential legal advocacy and filing restraining forms. Going to court can be difficult emotionally. We are available to accompany participants to court.​

Law Enforcement Advocacy​

We work with law enforcement to help ensure that victims connect with an advocate after a domestic or sexual violence incident. Survivors can also connect with us directly to assist with making or accessing a police report and following up with the responding officer.​

Housing Navigation​

Domestic and sexual violence is a leading cause of homelessness for women and children. We help survivors and their children find safe and stable housing while providing ongoing supportive services in an effort to improve their overall well-being.​​
